THE TRAIN NOT STOPPING

He went back for his book.

The truck driver put his foot down,
they did not meet.

In the office,
no-one noticed the miracle
of his arrival.

At breakfast,
his wife had not cooked
his last meal

The funeral director
was unaware his services
were not required

His son grew up
to instruct
his father.

It was a good book.
